We are a group of musicians who all read a book and separately write music inspired by that book, and then we put on a show all together. And now we are happy to present Random Magic, by Sasha Soren.
Michael Wallenfels will be playing his song for you, now. Thank you very much for thinking of us, and…Random Magic.
Michael Wallenfels (Songwriter): Random Magic is a pretty excellent book. It’s really trying to remind us all of the magic world that lives at the periphery of our own. And the experience of it is just a matter of belief.
And so this song is a testament to that, because I really felt that as the main message from the book; it was really beautifully expressed.
This song is called, ‘Don’t You Say You Don’t Believe in Magic’:
Don’t you say you don’t believe in magic, girl
Can’t you see the world for what it is?
You may say that life is downright tragic, girl
But can’t you be amazed (a maze) for just one day?
Tomorrow you may wander through the looking glass
Tomorrow you may find a hidden key
Stranger things have happened when we dream, my girl
You don’t have to wait to fall asleep
Ah, now – you don’t have to wait to fall asleep
Don’t you see the mystery of all, my boy
The world is what we make it in our minds
You say you know it’s there behind the wall, my boy
But you might be mistaken every time
Tomorrow you may wander through the looking glass
Tomorrow you may find a hidden key
Stranger things have happened when we dream, my boy
You don’t have to wait to fall asleep
Ah, now – you don’t have to wait to fall asleep
Ah, now – you don’t have to wait
to fall asleep…
Michael Wallenfels (Songwriter): Thank you, Sasha. :)
